The Canaan Fellowship International Church began in 1972 with a group of 35 believers who gathered together to fast and pray for revival in their homeland, Sri Lanka.
Under the leadership of the Rt. Rev. Dr. Albert Jebanayagam, the group has grown in numbers and today has 15 branches and many sub-branches across the island with 80 full-time workers serving. It also runs a Children's Home which looks after destitute children.
The CFIC is registered as a Church with the Government of Sri Lanka. The Canaan Children's Home is recognized as an Approved Home by the Ministry of Justice etc.
